Governance

Under the University College’s Statutes, the highest decision making and governing body of the University College is the Governing Council. It is currently made up 11 members comprising of eminent Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians, the majority of which are independent Governors. The current Chair of the Council is Dr. Justice Emile Francis Short The principal role of the Governing Council is to set the general strategy, policy and direction of the University College. There is a clear distinction of roles between ‘governance’ and ‘management,’ and members of the Governing Council are not involved in day-to-day executive management of the University College. The Executive is the University College's executive management team, and is responsible for the overall management and administration of the University College.
