Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) in Statistics
The Master of Philosophy in Statistics is a purely research master’s degree programme. It is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in statistical theory and methodology and in the application of statistical methods to problems in a wide range of fields. the MPhil programme prepares students for careers as university teachers and researchers and as reproach statistician in industry, government and the non-profit sector.
MPhil Statistics is primarily a research based post-graduate programme engineered learners enrolled onto it to obtain new knowledge and consider new information in relation to existing information. The programme interprets statistics very broadly and permits specialisation in probability, statistical theory and analysis, biostatistics and interdisciplinary areas of application. This programme is also aimed at equipping graduates of MPhil Statistics with the statistical skills needed for their research activities.
