Dominion's 8th Graduation Ceremony
Dominion University College marked a momentous occasion on August 24th, 2024, as the Christ the King Auditorium came alive with the energy and excitement of its graduation ceremony. This year’s event was particularly special, as it celebrated not only the academic success of its students but also the strength of community and collaboration that has come to define the institution.
A Gathering of Excellence
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Prof. Peter Quartey, one of Ghana’s leading experts in development economics. His keynote address inspired both graduates and guests alike, offering valuable insights on how education and innovation can drive national development. Prof. Quartey’s words left a lasting impact, setting the tone for an event that celebrated the potential of the next generation of leaders.
Celebrating our Graduands
Dominion University College proudly graduated approximately 200 students across its various programmes. This included 94 students from the Degree Class of 2023 and 106 students from the Higher National Diploma (HND) Classes of 2021, 2022, and 2023. Each graduate represented a story of perseverance, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence.
Among them, Dominic Okeke stood out as the valedictorian. Dominic’s journey to the top was nothing short of inspiring. After enrolling at Dominion University College in September 2019 to study Computer Science with Management, Dominic not only excelled academically but also emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student, earning First Class Honors. His story is a testament to what can be achieved with hard work and determination.
A Community United
The success of the graduation ceremony was a collective effort. The unwavering support from family and friends, coupled with the dedication of Dominion University College’s staff and students, created an atmosphere of celebration and pride. It was clear that the entire community played a role in making this event memorable.
In his address, the Chairman of the Governing Council urged the graduates to "dream boldly, embrace change, and relentlessly pursue your passions." His words encapsulated the spirit of Dominion University College; a place where students are encouraged to think big and are equipped with the tools to turn those dreams into reality.
Looking to the Future
As the graduates step out into the world, they carry with them the TEASE (Trustworthiness, Experience, Authority, Success and Expertise) framework imparted by Dominion University College. They are not just leaving with degrees, but with the confidence and skills to make meaningful contributions to society. The future is indeed bright for these young leaders, and as they go on to shape the world, they do so with the full support of a community that believes in their potential.
