The Certificate in GeoAg Indoors and Outdoors expands on indoor cultivation by introducing students to outdoor agricultural techniques using Geological Agriculture principles. This comprehensive programme teaches sustainable farming methods for growing plants in both controlled environments and open fields, helping students develop climate-resilient and plant growth-enhancing practices.

Learning outcomes

    1. Experience with growing 20 plant types indoors or outdoors at home
    2. Ability to increase food access at home, indoors or outdoors
    3. Enduring understanding of the science between water, rock, seeds, plants, nature and the environment
    4. Mastery of a wide range of plants growing in rocks
    5. Develop the capacity to achieve personal food security of a wide range of plant types

Students will explore the full spectrum of GeoAg applications, from indoor hydroponic systems to outdoor field trials, integrating the best practices from both domains. The coursework provides a balanced approach to understanding how geological inputs influence plant health, and environmental sustainability across diverse growing conditions. The planting process in this programme also utilizes soil-less techniques with nutrient-rich rocks to enhance plant growth, applying remineralization strategies to improve crop resilience.
